Veteran Kannada actor and stage artist C H Lokanath breathed his last on Monday in Bengaluru. He suffered from cadiac arrest and was 91, as per reports. According to asianetnews.com, he breathed his last at around 12. 10 am last night. His funeral will take place today between 12- 12: 30 pm and his mortal remains will be kept at Ravindra Kalakshetra, Bengaluru. Lokanath acted in more than 1000 stage plays and more than 650 films, reports ANI. The news agency announced the demise of the actor a while ago on social media. "Veteran Kannada actor and stage artist C H Lokanath passed away last night in Bengaluru. He acted in more than 1000 stage plays and more than 650 films," reads ANI's tweet. Check it out below-
Some of his popular characters as a stage artist include Galileo in "Galileo", Rajaram in "Aspota", Dr. Faustus in "Dr. Faustus", Kakaji in "Tanavu Ninnade Manavu Ninnade" and Dushtabudhi in "Chandrahasa". C H Lokanath also acted in several episodes of Malgudi Days. His list of well- known movies include- "Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu", "Collegu Ranga", "Naagarahaavu", "Katha Sangama", "Hosa Neeru", "Singapurinalli Raja Kulla",Minchina Ota and Mane Mane Kathe. C H Lokanath is survived by four daughters and a son.
