After an interesting first look and title reveal of Suriya's much-speculated project with Mohanlal, Kaappaan, the makers recently dropped the teaser online and it received a great positive response from fans. As Suriya was last seen in the 2019 film Nandha Gopalan Kumaran (NGK), helmed by Selvaraghavan, his fans have been waiting for Kaappaan ever since its teaser was released. As we know, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, who is back to Kollywood after Jilla where he was seen sharing screen space with actor Vijay, will be seen playing one of the lead roles in Suriya's Kaappaan. Yes, you read that right! Mohanlal has started dubbing for his part and a picture of the star from the dubbing studio is now surfacing on the internet and fans can't seem to keep calm. The picture has gone viral on social media. Talking about it, Mohanlal, in a recent interview with Times of India, said, "I have known Suriya for a while. I have seen a lot of his, his father’s and his brother’s movies. Similarly, Kaappaan’s director KV Anand is not a stranger either. So, I am actually going to a very comfortable zone. They wanted me to do the role and narrated the story, which I thought was interesting. It’s the story of the relationship between the characters played by Suriya and me."

Helmed by KV Anand, Kaappaan revolves around the relationship shared between Mohanlal and Suriya's characters. While Mohanlal will be seen in the role of a prime minister of the country named Chandrakanth Varma, Suriya plays the role of a first-rank SPG (Special Protection Group) officer in the film. Kaappaan is scheduled to hit the big screens on August 30.

Recently, the cast and crew of Kaappaan hosted a lavish audio launch event in Chennai. Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, the film has an ensemble star cast which includes Mohanlal, Suriya, Arya, Sayyeshaa, Boman Irani and Chirag Jani in prominent roles. Superstar Rajinikanth was seen at the event with the leading stars of this film. Stay tuned!
