Kaala Trailer: Rajinikanth Goes Super-Massy as KariKaalan and We Can't Stop Whistling!
Kaala is directed by Pa Ranjith, who had earlier directed Rajinikanth in 2016 blockbuster Kabali.
After much delay, we finally get to see Rajinikanth on the big screen again in the matter of a couple of weeks. While the status of 2.0 release is still in question, Rajinikanth will be seen in and as Kaala that is scheduled to release on June 7 (clashing with Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom). The action drama has Rajinikanth play a Tamilian slum-lord in Dharavi and has him pitted against the Bollywood star Nana Patekar. Kaala is directed by Pa Ranjith, who had earlier directed Rajinikanth in 2016 blockbuster Kabali. Rajinikanth's son-in-law and actor Dhanush has produced the movie under his banner Wunderbar Films.
The first teaser of Kaala came out a couple of months back and had successfully established Thalaiva as a powerful figure. He looked striking in that black attire and that salt-n-pepper beard. Well, the trailer has landed now, after weeks of wait, and it further establishes the persona of Kaala, while making him clash with the wily politician, played by Nana Patekar. The trailer showcases exactly what we expect from a Rajinikanth movie - action scenes, Rajinikanth's quips, family drama. Check it out here -
Huma Qureshi plays the female lead in Kaala, while the movie also stars Samuthirakani, Eswari Rao, Anjali Patil, Aravind Akash, Ravi Kale and Pankaj Tripathi.
After Kaala, Rajinikanth's next release should be 2.0, with Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson. The movie, directed by Shankar, has been mired in post-production woes, but is expected to release later this year. He will also be playing the lead in director Kartik Subbaraj's next, that will have Vijay Sethupathi play the antagonist.
