Kaala Release: Good News Rajinikanth Fans! Supreme Court Refuses to Stay the Release of Thalaiva’s Film in Karnataka
All Rajinikanth fans from Karnataka can now go watch Kaala without any trouble!
After the entire row over Rajinikanth's comments on Cauvery river and his upcoming movie, Kaala's release in Karnataka, the Supreme Court has finally come to a decision. According to reports in ANI, SC has refused to stay the release of the film in the state. The agency quoted the SC, "Everybody is anxiously waiting for the release of the movie. We don't want to interfere with its release." Well, this is going to come as a huge relief to a lot of Thalaiva fans in the state. With IT companies declaring a holiday to go watch Rajinikanth's Kaala and fans desperately waiting for the movie to release, we are sure fans in Karnataka are going to be celebrating now.
Prakash Raj had also commented on the issue saying that banning the actor's film based on his political opinions is unfair. Thalaiva and his team are not really promoting Kaala on a scale as big as 2.0 or the other films that he has done. In fact, the ticket sales of the film are also not as much as one would anticipate for a Rajinikanth film. Speaking about this, S Sridhar, joint secretary of Tamil Nadu Theatres Owners Association, told DNA, "There are multiple factors that might have led to the lack lustre response for Kaala's tickets booking. Lack of publicity for the movie. The decision to release the movie on June 7, which is a Thursday after the schools and college reopened. Also, Rajinikanth's comments on Thoothukudi police firing incident. All these might have impacted the bookings."
Well, since the ban on the film has been lifted in Karnataka, we wonder if the film will make as much money as anticipated. We are quite excited for Rajinikanth's Kaala and can't wait to see all the madness in the theatres! What are your thoughts on this? Tell us in the comments below and stay tuned with us for more.
