Ever since news of Rajinikanth teaming up with Karthik Subbaraj broke, fans have been excitedly waiting for more details on it. Sun Pictures now announced a new addition to the cast and it'll be something you have never seen onscreen before. Trisha Krishnan has been roped in to play an important role in the untitled film and this will be her first film with Rajinikanth. Reports suggest that the actress will be playing the Superstar's love interest in the film. Speculations of Trisha being considered for the film had been doing rounds a couple of days back. Though the production house has made her entry in the film official, details about characters are only speculations and rumours as of now.

Shoot for the film has already begun and Rajinikanth shot for some portions of the untitled film in Dehradun. Karthik Subbaraj's film boasts of a stellar cast that includes Vijay Sethupathi, Simran, Bobby Simhaa, Megha Akash and Sananth Reddy. Vjiay will be playing the antagonist in the film. Speaking of a stellar cast, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will also be making his debut in South cinema with this film. Now that is definitely like a cherry on the cake for fans who are looking forward to the movie.

It will be quite refreshing to see Rajinikanth and Trisha romance onscreen if the reports of her playing his love interest are true. Major narrative plots of the film will be shot in Chennai and Madurai. The film is slated to release in 2019. Rajinikanth is also gearing up to promote his next 2.0, which has Akshay Kumar playing the antagonist.
