After nearly 28 years, Kamal Haasan has made a triumphant return with the eagerly awaited sequel to Indian. Titled Indian 2, the film hit theatres on July 12, alongside its Hindi version, Hindustani 2. The original film, known as Indian in Tamil and Hindustani in Hindi, was released in 1996. Now, almost three decades later, the sequel has finally arrived. If all goes to plan, the third instalment, Indian 3/Hindustani 3, is expected to be released in cinemas just six months from now, continuing the beloved saga. Indian 2 Mid-Credits Scene Teases Epic Indian 3 Sequel

In the mid-credit scene of Indian 2, viewers were treated to a 30-second roll before unveiling an exciting glimpse of Indian 3. This teaser, lasting 2 minutes and 30 seconds, showcased Senapathi recounting his father Veerasekharan’s story, a fellow freedom fighter. Kajal Aggarwal is seen as Veerasekharan's wife and Senapathi's mother, hinting at her significant role in the sequel, Indian 3. The upcoming film promises grandiose period war scenes, sure to thrill audiences. The trailer also features a young Kamal Haasan, portraying a driven youngster outraged by British atrocities. During an interview, Shankar opened up about the Indian 3, and said, “It's possible within six months if everything goes well. If the VFX works are done, then it is possible. Additionally, I want to give out one more information. You can see the trailer for Indian 3 at the end of Indian 2.”

Indian 2 Synopsis

Senapathy, a freedom fighter-turned-vigilante, is now residing in Hong Kong. Upon learning about the unprecedented and overwhelming corruption plaguing his homeland, he decides to return to India to take a stand and combat the injustice. This action film sequel stars Kamal Haasan as Veerasekaran Senapathy aka Indian. The movie also features SJ Suryah, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, and Nedumudi Venu as Krishnaswamy IPS. Other key roles are played by Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, and many others across various versions. Late Vivek, G Marimuthu, and Manobala are also part of the film.
