Akshay Kumar seems to be enjoying the attention he's receiving down south. After playing a villain in Rajinikanth's 2.0, the actor is in talks to star in yet another south project but this time with superstar Kamal Haasan. Yes, if recent reports are to believe, the Khiladi of Bollywood is all set to play an antagonist in Kamal Haasan's next pivotal project, Indian 2 and we're hella excited. For the ones who don't know, director Shankar had earlier approached Ajay Devgn to star in this much talked about sequel. Apparently, the actor was offered the part of a cop. “Both, Ajay and Kamal, were keen to collaborate on this film. However, for various reasons, including his prior commitments, Ajay couldn’t come on board,” said a source close to this leading daily.

Going further the source even mentioned how Akshay Kumar came in the picture and why there are chances that he may sign this Kamal Haasan starrer. The source said, "Akshay and Shankar, who became good friends by the time 2.0 was wrapped, had reportedly spoken about working together again when something suitable came their way. Interestingly this is Kamal Haasan's last movie before he ventures into politics with all his heart. The actor in one of his earlier interactions had revealed that Indian 2 will be his last project before retirement and his 58 years long run in the industry will come to an end. This reason definitely makes this film extra special for all his fans. The makers recently unveiled the first poster of the sequel to Shankar’s 1994-superhit and the shooting is expected to start tomorrow in Chennai. Kajal Aggarwal is a part of this big movie and we hope Akshay joins the talented star cast very soon.
