India celebrates its 73rd Independence Day today and the reason is enough to fill your chest with pride. It was on this day when our country was granted its freedom from the British tyranny after we fought years for it. As India gears to rejoice its national holiday, South celebs like Bollywood are busy sending their patriotic wishes for the same. Interestingly, Independence Day 2019 coincides with the Raksha Bandhan celebration that's another special day for all the Indians. This year is clearly extra special for all of us for we have dual reasons to enjoy and celebrate.
While Anushka Sharma, Karan Johar, Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn have already sent their best and patriotic wishes to their fans, South celebs like Mohanlal, Kajal Aggarwal, Allu Arjun, Nagarjuna and Jr NTR have also joined them. Check out their recent tweets that will please the patriot within you.

Another thing to note here is that two major upcoming projects in the South film industry revolve around India's fight against Britishers. Chiranjeevi's period drama, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is on a freedom fighter, Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, who used Guerilla war techniques to fight the Britishers. And SS Rajamouli's RRR with Ram Charan and Jr NTR is on Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem who opposed the British and Nizam rule in India. The entertainment industry has always been obsessed with India's history and we have some exciting projects about the same to look forward to.
