Born on September 7, 1951, Mammootty is one of the biggest and most popular Malayalam actors in the Southern film industry. He is also a producer and has a career spanning of over four decades. 1. Mamootty's full name is Muhammad Kutty Paniparambil Ismail and he actually hails from Kochi, which is also know as Cochin.

2. He is the only Malayalam actor who is a 3-time National award winner, equalled with Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan. No wonder people are so crazy after him!

3. The actor has been a part of more than 390 movies and has played dual rol (double role) in 16 of them. Of the 390 released flicks, 365 are in Malayalam. Of the remaining, 15 are in Tamil, 5 in Hindi, 3 in Telugu and 1 each in Kannada and English.

4. Mammootty, who is actually a lawyer by profession, is obsessed with the number 369. All the cars he owns are of the same number. Well, the reason behind that is during his initial days, he had bought himself a briefcase which had 369 as the lock code. He developed a liking for the number which has all three multiples of three and ended up using it for all his cars.

5. Vanitha magazine rated Mammootty as the actor with the highest sex appeal in Kerala, following a survey among its readers.
