In a short span of time, Taapsee Pannu has managed to carve a niche for herself in the Hindi film industry. And after delivering back-to-back hits like Manmarziyaan and Badla, the actress is back at the cinema halls with her latest offering Game Over. The horror thriller directed by Ashwin Saravanan arrived in theatres yesterday and has been released in three languages - Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Though the film wasn't high on pre-release buzz, it opened to rave reviews from the critics across India. However, Game Over still witnessed very low collections on day 1. The movie merely collected around 97 lakh on Friday which was very disappointing considering all the positive reviews. But on Saturday, Pannu's home invasion thriller picked up the pace at the ticket windows and ended up minting Rs 1.94 crore according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
This means the two-day collection of Game Over stands at Rs 2.91 crore which is pretty decent. Obviously, the figures should have been better since the movie is high on content. But let's hope it continues to do better with each passing day so as to ensure a good week 1 total.
