As per the latest development, the Kerala government will be submitting the full Hema Committee report to the Kerala High Court by September 9. On the other hand, an anticipatory bail plea of Malayalam director Ranjith was closed by the HC on Wednesday.

Full Hema Committee Report To Be Submitted to Kerala HC on September 9
After the 235-page report was published, the government of Kerala formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) consisting of senior women police officers to investigate the harassment cases filed. According to the latest update, the Kerala government will be submitting the complete Hema Committee report to the Kerala High Court by September 9. This will include copies of statements, and details regarding the action taken on the registered cases. This comes after the Kerala HC has ordered the complete report's submission on August 22.
Kerala HC Closes Bail Plea of Director Ranjith in Sexual Assault Case
In a new development, the Kerala High Court has closed the anticipatory bail plea filed by director Ranjith in a sexual harassment case. This decision follows Ranjith's argument that the charge under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was made a non-bailable offence only in 2013, while the incident occurred in 2009. Earlier, Ranjith stepped down as the chairman of the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy following sexual assault allegations made by a Bengali actress. The government of Kerala published the Hema Committee report on August 19. The commission, headed by former High Court judge Justice Hema, retired IAS officer KB Valsala Kumari, and veteran actress Hema, was formed in 2017.
