Dulquer Salmaan’s 25th Film

The handsome hunk of Mollywood Dulquer Salmaan was last seen in Oru Yamandan Premakadha. His fans were eagerly waiting to hear about his next project. On July 15, superstar Mammootty’s son announced about his upcoming flick in Tamil - Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal, written and directed by Desingh Periyasamy. This film is special to Dulquer as it happens to be his 25th film.

The title launch of Mammootty’s next film SHYLOCK took place last week. This film marks the third time collaboration of Mammukka and the film’s director Ajai Vasudev. They have earlier worked together in RajadhiRaja and Masterpiece. SHYLOCK is expected to release in Christmas 2019.

Sai Pallavi who is widely known for her role as Malar in the Malayalam film Premam, is one of the most-sought after actress’ down south. For those who don’t know, she was the first choice for Dear Comrade. The actress reportedly rejected the film over a kissing scene and that’s how the role went to Rashmika Mandanna. The film has already grabbed eyeballs over this kissing shot that was shown in the teaser and trailer.

Amala Paul’s Reaction to AL Vijay’s Wedding

Amala Paul was first married to Tamil filmmaker AL Vijay. The couple got officially divorced in February 2017 and that left many shocked. On June 29 a statement was released in which AL Vijay confirmed that he is getting married again in July and it would be secret affair. All were waiting to see Amala Paul’s reaction to this. The actress who was happy for her ex-husband said in an interview, “Vijay is a very sweet man. A fantastic human. I wholeheartedly wish him a happy married life and wish the couple lots of babies.”

Aadai Shows Getting Cancelled

Aadai was scheduled to release on July 19, however at the end minute all the morning shows were cancelled as the KDM’s were not issued. Fans of Amala Paul expected that there would be a noon show, but even that got cancelled. It was later in the day when Aadai managed to get a theatrical release and fans could watch the film on the big screens.

AR Rahman and Kamal Haasan Collaborates for Thalaivan Irukkindraan

Thalaivan Irukkindraan was announced back in 2008 but the project was delayed citing financial problems. In 2015 the update was that the film would be made in Hindi as well titled Amar Hai with Kamal Haasan and Saif Ali Khan in the lead. After four years, Kamal Haasan made an official announcement stating Thalaivan Irukkindraan will be produced under the banners of Raaj Kamal Films International and Lyca Productions. Not just that, it will also mark the collaboration of AR Rahman and Haasan after 19 years.

SIIMA 2019 Nominations

South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) is taking place on August 15 and 16 in Doha, Qatar. The prestigious awards ceremony rewards the achievements in the South Indian Film Industry. The nomination list is out and public voting is also open. Some of the popular names nominated this year includes Dulquer Salmaan, Vijay Deverakonda, Nayanthara, Samantha Akkineni, Rashmika Mandanna amongst others.

Saaho Postponed

This was one of the biggest update that left everyone stunned. Saaho starring Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead, was scheduled to release on August 15. Directed by Sujeeth, the film was supposed to clash with Misson Mangal and Batla House. But the makers have confirmed that the film will now release on August 30 as they need to bring finesse to the high-octane action sequences.
