There has been tremendous uproar in the Malayalam film industry after superstar Dileep got accused in the abduction and sexual assault of a popular actress. The members of Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) and Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes' (AMMA) raised their objection against reinstating him in AMMA despite the ongoing case. Now, actor's ex-wife and known actress Manju Warrier has spoken up once again on the issue. The Aami actress has been always by the side of the assaulted actress who is also her close friend.

Clearing her stance for once and all to a leading Malayalam daily, the 38-year-old actress said, "My stance has always been one and the same regarding this. Which is that I have always been with her. I haven't felt the need to repeatedly announce this stance every day. She knows that, too. Those who know me and her very well, also know this. Ours was a bond that started way before Facebook hashtags and the likes. That will remain so always. Even after all this noise and uproar gets over. To announce this, I don't need hashtags."

She also further added that she has much better things to do than clarifying and elaborating on the same controversies again and again. Also, there were rumors that she exited WCC. However, it was then confirmed that no such thing has happened and that she is very much the part of the organisation.

Meanwhile, Mohanlal, head of AMMA, was slammed by a lot of stars down south who were agitated by his decision to reinstate Dileep. Four of the members even quit the organisation to protest against it. Also, well-known faces like Revathy, Parvathy Menon and Padmapriya Janakiraman asked for an emergency meeting after the decision. Actor Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal's close friend, too was not very happy about the decision! Looks like almost the whole industry is against Dileep and the final verdict on the case is awaited.
