Dhanush is going the Gangs of Wasseypur way with his upcoming movie, Vaada Chennai. The ambitious gangster drama is directed by Vetri Maaran who has previously worked with Dhanush in movies like Polladhavan and Aadukalam. We have to add here that Dhanush has won his first National Award for the Best Actor his performance in Aadukalam. Vada Chennai also stars Andrea Jeremiah, Aishwarya Rajesh, Samuthirakani and Ameer.
The latest update on Vada Chennai is that the movie has found a release date. It will now release on October 17. However, Vada Chennai won't be having a free rein at the box office, since two more biggies are coming out at the same time. There is the sequel to Vishal's entertainer Sandai Kozhi that is aiming to release on October 18. Kaatrin Mozhi, the Tamil remake of Vidya Balan's Tumhari Sulu is also coming out in the same period. Jyothika is playing the lead here while her husband, Suriya Sivakumar is producing the movie. This is definitely going to be an interesting clash for sure.
Talking more about Vada Chennai, the movie has Dhanush playing a young lad from North Madras who gets embroiled in gang wars and how he becomes the leader in the game. Vada Chennai has been in the making for some time and is said to be the most expensive project Dhanush has been a part of. The teaser of the film has won a lot of appreciation, with even Shah Rukh Khan singling it out for praise.
