Veteran Tamil actor Delhi Ganesh who last featured in Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2' passed away at the age of 80 due to health-related complications. Among several other celebrities, Rajinikanth took to his Twitter handle and condoled Delhi Ganesh's passing.
Veteran Tamil actor Ganesan, popularly known as Delhi Ganesh, left for heavenly abode on Saturday (November 9) night. The actor reportedly passed away due to age-related complications. He was 80 years old at the time of his demise. The news of his passing was confirmed by his son and actor, Mahadevan Ganesh, who released a short statement. "We deeply regret to inform you that our father Mr Delhi Ganesh on November 9 at around 11 PM", he said. Soon after learning about the senior actor's demise, South celebrities, especially from Kollywood, mourned the loss on social media. Superstar Rajinikanth also shared his condolences. Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, who collaborated with Delhi Ganesh on several films, including Moondru Mugam (1982), Pandian (1992), Velaikkaran (1987) and Manithan (1987), among others, expressed extreme grief over the actor's passing. Taking to his X (previously Twitter) handle, The Tamil superstar shared a note and wrote, "My friend Delhi Ganesh is a wonderful man. Amazing actor. I am saddened to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti".

Over his career, Delhi Ganesh appeared in more than 400 movies across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi languages. Some of his most popular works include Michael Madana Kama Rajan (1990), Sidhu Bhairavi (1985), Nayakan (1987) and Iruvar (1997), among others. Before venturing into acting, Delhi Ganesh served in the Indian Air Force for a decade between 1964-1974 Known for his versatility, Delhi Ganesh could portray any character that was required and would nail it with ease. His last film was S Shankar and Kamal Haasan's Indian 2.
