Rajinikanth’s Darbar is one of the most awaited releases of 2020. The fans of the Tamil superstar are waiting for him to set the screens on fire with his fiery dialogues and powerful action sequences. However, looks like the movie has hit the first road block as a stay has been demanded on it’s release on January 9. As per a fresh report in Times Now, a petition has been filed in the Madras High Court seeking stay on the release of this AR Murugadoss directorial. The action entertainer also stars lady superstar, Nayanthara as the female lead. It is for the first time that they will see this golden pair together on the screen, doubling the excitement of the fan. However, another report in The News Minute also says that the roadblock is due to some financial or plagiarism issues, none of it being confirmed though.

Malaysia based entertainment company DMY Creations has demanded from Lyca Productions the repayment of Rs 12 crore that they took at a rate of 30% p.a. for the making Rajinikanth’s last film, 2.0. Now as Rs 23.70 crore is still due, the makers asked for the ban of this upcoming film. The film also stars Nivetha Thomas, Suniel Shetty,Yogi Babu, Thambi Ramaiya, Sriman, Prateik Babbar, Jatin Sarna, Nawab Shah and Dalip Tahil.
