CONFIRMED! Suriya – Chiyaan Vikram’s Tamil Hit Pithamagan to Remade in Hindi

The blockbuster Tamil film Pithamagan starring Suriya and Vikram was released in 2003. The movie directed by Bala, was based on Jayakanthan's Nandhavanathil Oru Andi, the story of an undertaker. Seeing the response for the film, it was later dubbed into Telugu titled Sivaputrudu and released in 2004. It was remade in Kannada as Anatharu and released in 2007. According to a report in Bangalore Mirror, the Hindi remake rights of Pithamagan has been owned by Satish Kaushik. The details of who’ll be directing the project and the cast for it has not been announced yet. Satish had directed Salman Khan’s film Tere Naam which was a remake of Bala’s film Sethu. Satish explains why he wouldn’t be directing the Hindi version of Pithamagan. He says, “I bought the rights of the film as it is an unusual and hard-hitting story.
