One of the biggest Diwali releases in South this year is Vijay and Nayanthara starrer Bigil. The film not only had a massive opening at the box office in India but the much-awaited sports-drama which released on October 25 is also dominating the box office overseas. As per reports, the film has already crossed Rs 100 crore at the worldwide box office in just three days. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to Twitter to share the news and wrote, "#Bigil has taken more than Rs100 Crs+ Opening at the WW Box Office..Congrats #Thalapathy @actorvijay, #Nayanthara, @Atlee_dir, @archanakalpathi, @Ags_production and Team."

The film received positive reviews from the critics. It stars Vijay in dual roles of father and son, with the son being a coach for the Women's Football team. With Bigil, the actor got his career's best opening in the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It earned Rs 2.58 crore. Prior to this, his other film, Sarkar which had earned Rs 2.30 crore share last year which was Vijay's highest in the state.

Bigil also features Jackie Shroff, Kathir, Vivekh, and Yogi Babu in significant roles. Apart from them, Indhuja, Varsha Bollamma, Amritha, and Reba Monica John will be seen as the footballers, who will be coached by Vijay's characters.
