Asuran Telugu Remake: Did Anushka Shetty Say A No For This Project?
Asuran directed by Vetrimaaran was a blockbuster. The Tamil film featured Dhanush and Manju Warrier in the lead, and Anushka Shetty was reportedly approached to play the latter's role in the Telugu remake.
Anushka Shetty is known for her works in the Telugu and Tamil film industry. She has a long list of films to her credit. Anushka has also worked with some of the leading actors in both Tollywood and Kollywood. Some of the hit films that she has done includes Vikramarkudu, Lakshyam, Arundhati, Baahubali, Bhaagamathie among others. There is no doubt that today Anushka is one of the most sought after actresses in down south. As per the latest reports, she was approached for Asuran Telugu remake, and she reportedly turned down the offer. For the unversed, Asuran starring Dhanush and Manju Warrier, is been remade in Telugu. Venkatesh Daggubati has been roped in to play the lead. Suresh Productions confirmed about the remake by sharing the post via Twitter that read, “#VictoryVenkatesh is going to play the lead in Telugu version of #Asuran. The movie will be produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu and Suresh Babu and under V creations and Suresh Productions banners. #VenkateshDaggubati74”. As per leading media reports, Anushka Shetty was offered to reprise Manju Warrier’s role in Asuran Telugu remake. However the actress rejected the offer and the reason behind it is unknown. It is also heard that Shriya Saran is also being considered as the leading lady in Asuran Telugu remake. Vetrimaaran Confirms He's Not Remaking Asuran With Shah Rukh Khan.

When pic of Shah Rukh Khan with Vetrimaaran hit the internet, many were almost sure that Asuran Hindi remake is happening.
