The Chennaiites had sought permission to protest near Valluvar Kottam, which was turned down at the last moment. Despite the police had revoked the permission, hundreds turned up to protest against the citizenship act, asking the government to revoke it. About the protest, Siddharth told India Today, “This is a draconian law and we should keep protesting. Protesting is our right. I've told the protesters also not to lose their calm and also watch what they are saying cause anything can be twisted now. We will have to stay together to oppose this.” Stay tuned for further updates!
