Ram Gopal Varma’s film Lakshmi’s NTR is a biographical drama based on the life of the late actor Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao (aka N.T. Rama Rao). The film also focuses on the political journey of N.T. Rama Rao who was also the founder of the Telugu Desam Party. The film which was scheduled to release today (March 29), has reportedly been issued a stay order by the Andhra Pradesh high court. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Lakshmi’s NTR is permitted to be released in Telangana on March 29. About the film’s release stayed in Andhra Pradhesh, Ram Gopal Varma tweeted, “ANNOUNCEMENT #Lakshmis NTR releasing tmrw on 29th as scheduled all over world and Telangana state except only AP ..We rushing to Supreme Court to appeal against AP court order ..Am calling for press meet tmrw mrng 11 AM at Prasad Lab to talk about all the developments”. As per reports, the producers of Lakshmi’s NTR were directed to screen the film on April 3 in the judge’s chamber. The producers are also required to be present during the screening. Two individuals have reportedly filed a petition seeking a stay on the release of Lakshmi’s NTR until the Lok Sabha and Assembly Elections on April 11. Stay tuned for further updates.
