The critics have spoken! Before you grab your ticket, take a peek at the reviews for the film. Find out what they’re saying and decide if it’s a must-see or a pass.

India Today:  Andhagan’ took too long a time to arrive, but it is still a faithful remake that gets most things right. Director Thiagarajan has retained the essence of ‘Andhadhun’ and scored brownie points with the terrific cast. His creative decision to include yesteryear's hits of Karthik, Prashanth and Ilaiyaraaja makes 'Andhagan' rooted. ‘Andhagan’ is largely a scene-for-scene remake, which is why it remains effective. Casting Simran to reprise Tabu’s role is a perfect choice. Her performance lives up to the dark nature of the role and makes it compelling. Priya Anand is ideally cast in Radhika Apte’s role, and her effervescent character is tailor-made for her.Despite being in the making for several years, ‘Andhagan’ feels fresh, thanks to the performance and the production values. For those who haven’t seen ‘Andhadhun’, the Tamil remake serves as a perfect whodunnit thriller with plenty of twists and turns. However, the graphics are somewhat tacky and could have been improved.

Indian Express: What truly elevates Andhagan is the convincing performances of the principal cast. Prashanth returns to form with a role that allows him to display a gamut of emotions. Despite a shaky moral compass, Krish is more of a survivor than a fighter. There is a strong sense of innocence to his character, but there are also doubts about him being an unreliable narrator, and Prashanth sells this dichotomy well. He scores high in the emotional moments, and it is his usually strong suit of romance that takes a hit in Andhagan. ‘NTR Neel’: Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel Announce Collaboration on New Project; Movie to Arrive in January 2026 (View Post).

Moviecrow: Some flaws do exist, apart from that it’s a very neat remake of Andhadhun. It will be a solid flick with surprising turns for the ones who haven’t seen the original yet and an engaging watch for those who have experienced it already.

Ottplay: At a point in Andhagan, KS Ravikumar who plays doctor Samy says, “deivam kudukunum nenacha, kudukum (if God decides to give, it will happen). Well, for most it does reflect on Prashanth’s belief in the supreme power, when his comeback film does give him an ample of opportunities to perform and play around onscreen. Andhagan may have its shortcomings and dull moments, given what we know and anticipate after seeing the original, but for most parts, is a very honest, dedicated, and brilliantly executed film, which shines with its exceptional casting.
