Earier, we had reported about how the controversy star Sri Reddy and Sanjjanaa Galrani talked they were being lured into a prostitution racket within the Telugu film circle by a producer couple. Now popular lyricist Shrestha, who wrote songs for Arjun Reddy and Pelli Chopulu, have opened a new can of worms when he talks about how casting couch exists in the Telugu film industry and how she nearly dropped her career thanks to incessant demands for sexual favours.
In an interview to India Glitz, Shreshta revealed, “I had to postpone my career because of a few bad experiences. Many people have openly suggested to me that I won’t be able to make a name for myself in the industry only with my writing. I have learned over the years that it’s not just men but also women who unabashedly perpetuate such things. I was helpless. I warned them strongly and left the industry for a few months."
She then went on to talk about how a producer's wife asked her to give herself up to her husband's sexual demands. And then another incident where a woman director told her that a man has arranged for a grand party for her, where he will propose her. When she refused the offer, she was abused by the man.
With more such revelations, we are sure the sex offenders in the Telugu industry must be sweating badly now.
