Also, the movie has been written by Baahubali and Bajrani Bhaijaan fame writer, K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, who is SS Rajamouli's father. Today, the Telugu trailer of Manikarnika was launched in Hyderabad in presence of Kangana. During the media interaction, Kangana made a big revelation. At the Hindi trailer launch of Manikarnika, Vijayendra had said that he was apprehensive of narrating Manikarnika's story to Kangana. He said that he had heard she is temperamental. He had added that he was happily surprised to see that it's not true and Kangana was actually as happy as a kid during the narration. Well, seems like they have struck a bond, for they are collaborating on a Telugu film, Kangana revealed. The actress has also started learning the language for the same. Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi was initially directed by Krish. But when the movie needed heavy reshoots and patchwork, the director was unavailable owing to scheduling conflicts. Thus, Kangana, who had been aspiring to make a film for the longest time, had to step in as the director. The movie is based on the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai and her fight with the East India Company.
