The Tamil film Aadai starring Amala Paul in the lead released in July and opened to positive reviews. Directed by Rathna Kumar, there are reports doing rounds that this film would now be remade in Hindi and Kangana Ranaut would be stepping into Amala Paul’s shoes. The buzz is even rife that the remake rights of this film has been bagged by producer Arun Pandian. Chennai-based industry tracker Ramesh Bala tweeted that Arun Pandian has clarified that Kangana Ranaut has not being approached for Aadai Hindi remake. He tweeted, “Official: Producer #ArunPandian of A&P Group who has the remake rights of @Amala_ams’s #Aadai in other languages has denied approaching #KanganaRanaut for the Hindi remake.. Filmmaker Rathna Kumar had confirmed on his Facebook page that Aadai will be remade in Hindi. He wrote, “#Aadai Television premiere on Colors Tamil for this Diwali. And Aadai Hindi Remake is starting soon. The most happening Hindi Actress is starring in it bankrolled by a renowned production house. More details soon. Thank you”. In an interview to Deccan Chronicle the director not only clarified about the lead actress but he also mentioned that the Hindi rights has been sold to producer Mukesh Bhatt.
Rathna Kumar's Post On Aadai Remake:
Rathna Kumar was quoted saying as, “Actor and producer Arun Pandian who helped in production of Aadai has sold the Hindi remake rights of the film to producer Mukesh Bhatt. And, what I heard was they are gearing up with preproduction work and getting the script ready in Hindi. And, as per our contract, the offer to direct the movie in Bollywood should be given to me first. But, I have no idea if they are making any move to hold talks with Kangana.”

“When I initially wanted to make Aadai a pan Indian movie, I had suggested Kangana Ranaut’s name. Probably, that would have also triggered the reports,” said Rathna Kumar to DC. Aadai was produced under the banner of SK Studios. The official announcement on the cast is yet to be made.
