The Tamil-language film 96 starring Trisha Krishnan and Vijay Sethupathi was released in October last year. The film received positive response from critics and fans. It was recently announced that this Tamil hit would be remade in Telugu featuring Samantha Akkineni and Sharwanand Myneni. Yes, these two have been roped in to play the leading roles in the Telugu remake. The upcoming flick would be directed by Prem Kumar while Dil Raju has secured the rights of the film. According to reports, due to creative differences the Telugu remake of 96 has fallen in trouble due to creative differences between Prem Kumar (cameraman turned director) and Dil Raju. Deccan Chronicle quoted a source saying, “The director wants to rope in music director Govind Vasantha who gave music for the Tamil version, but Dil Raju is opposed to it. He has instead suggested a top music director’s name which Prem is not agreeing to.” The source also mentioned that Dil Raju wants to make changes in the script as well. “The director wants the remake to be exactly like the original version and doesn’t want to change anything,” the source said. Talking about Samantha Akkineni, she’ll soon be seen in Majili opposite her husband, Naga Chaitanya. The film’s teaser has opened to positive response and the expectations are sky-high from the film. Sharwanand is widely known for his works in Telugu film industry. He was last seen in Padi Padi Leche Manasu which released in December 2018.
