Rekhs is a popular subtitler in the South Indian cinema. She worked on the subtitles of the 2018 released 2.0, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in the lead. The film which is produced under the banner of Lyca Productions, is the second highest-grossing film in the country. Almost after a year of the film’s release, subtitler Rekhs accused the makers over non-payment of dues for the work she did. The production company which remained silent all these days, has finally responded to the entire saga. Akshay Kumar And Rajinikanth's 2.0 Gets A New Release Date In China.

In an interview to The News Minute, subtitler Rekhs had stated, “I do not want to give up. It is unfair to not be paid for the work you did. I am only asking them to pay me for the work I did for the film’s Tamil version. My Hindi and Telugu subtitles, too, were used for Amazon Prime and that also needs to be accounted for.” She also said, “A lot of them have been able to appreciate 2.0 mainly because of the subtitles. As far as the payment goes it isn’t even 0.001% of the film’s collection.”

Lyca Productions shared a lengthy note in which it mentioned, “Lyca Productions allots a budget of Rs 50,000 for subtitling of all the films we produce, irrespective of the scale and budget.” It also read, “Ms Rekhs demanded 2 lakhs for subtitling the film 2.0, which was not agreeable to us. Out of her own free will, she completed the work and said we could discuss the compensation later. She had reached out subsequently, but the rate she expected was not acceptable by us.”

Lyca Productions concluded the note by stating, “It is very easy to defame someone by a simple tweet / post. We value each and every vendor who contributes to the process of a film completion and are certainly not going to undermine their contribution by not settling them what they deserve.”
