2.0, the sequel to the 2010 blockbuster sci-fi film Enthiran aka Robot, is all set to release in India on November 29. The movie, touted as the most expensive film made in Indian cinema, is directed by S Shankar of Gentleman, Anniyan, Mudhalvan and Indian fame. Rajinikanth will reprise his dual roles of the good-hearted scientist Vaseegaran and his android Chitti from the first film. Akshay Kumar, in his Tamil debut, is playing the main antagonist, a super-villain with the ability to control technology. Amy Jackson is the female lead, playing an android like Chitti. The advance booking of 2.0 is already open in South, where the expectations riding on the film are high because of Rajinikanth's star-power. As per sources, 2.0 has taken off to a flying start in advance sales booking, with the movie collecting more than Rs 100 crore from online sales. It also helps that many sites like BookMyShow, ICICI Bank, PayTm, Amazon offering discounts to sell more tickets for the film. Budget

Reportedly made at a budget of Rs 600 crore, 2.0 is easily the most expensive film to date in Indian cinema. Number of Screens

With such a huge budget, the makers of 2.0 are looking to capitalise on the huge initial that the film will attract based on its tremendous hype. As per reports, 2.0 is releasing across 10000 screens worldwide, which is the highest for an Indian film.

Advance Sales

Not surprising, 2.0 has also generated a huge buzz down South with the advance booking collections on a high. Industry watcher Ramesh Bala wrote, "#2Point0 TN Pre-release Theaterical total advance is valued the highest in Tamil Cinema.. Nearly ₹ 120 Crs.. A First in Tamil Cinema to cross ₹ 100 Crs.." At the time of writing this article, the advance booking has not been completely open for theatres in Mumbai, so expect the numbers to go higher.

Fast Recovery

Even though 2.0's budget is high, the movie has recovered more than half of that through advance sales and satellite rights. As per reports, 2.0 has already recovered about Rs 370 crore through these sources.
