Abhishek Bachchan and Rohit Shetty share a warm rapport. Well, the filmmaker and actor did share a friendship until recently. Well, it seems that when Abhishek decided to return to the movies and signed Anurag Kashyap's Manmarziyaan, Rohit also went to his buddy Jr Bachchan with a role. Apparently, Rohit was keen on signing Abhishek as the villain opposite Ranveer Singh in Simmba. The actor however was not too keen and turned down Rohit's offer. Rohit wasn't very happy with AB's justification for refusing the part.
Abhishek felt that it would be a bad career choice for him to play a villain opposite Ranveer. And the actor is said to have told his director friend about how when her turned a baddie for Mani Ratnam's Raavan his fans did not accept him. Not convinced with Abhishek's and upset with his decision of not joining team Simmba, Rohit approached Sonu Sood who was more than happy to bag this part. Sonu was ousted from Manikarnika by Kangana Ranaut. Insiders suggest how after differences with the Queen actress the director of Manikarnika, Krish walked out of the project. Sonu shared a great rapport with Krish who had even extended the actor's role. With Kangana taking the realms she decided to stick to the earlier script and Sonu's extended character presence was cut short. The duo obviously had a fallout and the Happy New Year hero quit the film. One can often see the Manmarziyaan hero comment on Sonu Sood's shirtless Instagram pictures. And even though Jr Bachchan turned down Simmba, the actor is all set to experiment with work. He is said to have green-lit Breathe's second inning on an OTT platform. The actor's film, Gulab Jamun with wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is however unlikely to kick off anytime soon because #MeToo movement has lead to Phantom's disintegration after Vikas Bahl was accused of sexual misconduct.
