This was bound to happen. Rajkumar Hirani was all set to rule the box office with his directorial venture Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju. But who would have thought he would break records at the ticket windows. Thanks to Hirani's ability to tell unusual stories coupled with Ranbir's power-packed performance, Sanju is pulling the audiences into theatres. What is even more exciting is that one day one the movie has raked in Rs 34 crore. In the next two days, Sanju will go past Rs 100 crore marks.

Sanju has raced past Salman Khan's Race 3 too. What worked in Ranbir Kapoor's film is that Race 3 is not a quality cinema as compared to Sanju which is a classic example of a fine narrative. No wonder Sanju has set the cash register clinking!

The figure was confirmed by film trade expert Taran Adarsh on Saturday morning. “Non-holiday… Non-festival release… Yet, #Sanju packs a PHENOMENAL TOTAL on Day 1… Emerges the BIGGEST OPENER of 2018 [so far]… Also, Ranbir’s HIGHEST OPENER to date… Expected to cross ₹ 100 cr in 3 days, as per trends… Fri ₹ 34.75 cr. India biz,” he tweeted.

 

 

And now we hear that the media is entertaining the posssibility of a biopic on Kajol. Interacting with the media here at the Iconic Brand Award 2018, the actress said: "I don't think I want anyone to make a biopic on me. I think I am living my life the way I want to and I think I am living my own biopic."

Kajol, daughter of actress Tanuja, made her Hindi film debut with Rahul Rawail's "Bekhudi" in 1992, and was known as the most natural actress of the 1990s. She was always clear what type of roles she wanted to do, genres she wanted to explore and confident about taking a break to enjoy family time.
