Sacred Games Review: Saif Ali Khan-Nawazuddin Siddiqui-Radhika Apte’s Netflix Web Series Gets Thumbs Up From Critics

Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte and Nawazuddin Siddiqui are currently the most looked upon stars, thanks to their upcoming series ‘Sacred Games’. For the uninitiated, the series is India’s first 'original' one on the popular online streaming platform. The series that is based on the book with the same name is gaining positive reviews from the critics. The makers were teasing the fans with various stills from the series and rightly, it has managed to impress everyone. The series takes you back to Bombay in 1990s and the world of crime and thrill then. Here’s what the critics have to say about the series.
Hindustan Times: "It’s a cat-and-mouse thriller about two men who appear to occupy opposite ends of the spectrum - one is a weathered cop and the other a powerful gangster - but upon closer scrutiny reveal more similarities than either would be comfortable acknowledging. It is also, as corny as it sounds, a story about good versus evil - perhaps the most resilient theme of all."
The Indian Express: "The drama’s bigger story arc and the individual character stories go hand-in-hand and at no point does one overpower the other. Dubbed as India’s answer to Narcos, it is yet to be seen if this show will deliver what it promises in the beginning."
NDTV: "There is much to look forward to in Sacred Games. The series has the potential to wean back viewers who have been driven away from television by drab soap operas and trite entertainment formats."
News 18: "Sacred Games is truly an unrelenting portrayal of Mumbai mob life, with a pilot that stands shoulder to shoulder with the other works of both Kashyap and Motwane.
