Sacred Games 2, Kabir Singh and Other Top 10 Series and Movies That Make It To Netflix India’s Most Popular Releases 2019 List
Netflix has been giving out some qualitative content and the list only makes it more crucial for the makers to live up to the audiences’ expectations henceforth.
The fans are stumbling upon various year-ender and decade-ender ‘Top 10’ lists released by Google, Twitter, Channels and Publications. It is always fun to take a final look-back at the things that we collectively showered love upon. Now, Netflix India too has joined the bandwagon. The popular streaming platform released the list of ‘Top 10 Most Popular Releases of 2019’ that included series as well as movies that were showcased on the platform. Unsurprisingly, Saif Ali Khan- Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Sacred Games 2 tops the ‘Top 10 Most Popular Series Releases of 2019’ category. Shahid Kapoor-Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh is in the first place when it comes to ‘Top 10 Most Popular Movie Releases of 2019.’ Kabir Singh, Avengers: Endgame, Joker Top The Most-Searched Movies in Google Year in Search 2019 India List.
The buzz of the sequel of Sacred Games was high and while it received mixed reviews, the makers managed to make the fullest of this buzz. Shah Rukh Khan’s first Netflix venture as a producer, the Emraan Hashmi starrer Bard of Blood is on the second spot.
On the other hand, Kabir Singh has been the most controversial movies of 2019, thanks to its debatable and misogynist content. However, it also became Shahid’s first solo hit and managed to earn Rs 300 crore at the ticket windows. That explains why it tops the list. Ayushmann Khurrana’s critically acclaimed film, Article 15 is on number two. On third is greatly bashed and much-delayed Sushant Singh Rajput-Jacqueline Fernandez’s movie Drive.
