This scene has landed the filmmaker Anurag Kashyap in a legal controversy. BJP leader Tajinder Bagga has filed a police complaint against the makers for allegedly hurting the sentiments of the Sikh community.
Sacred Games 2 is all over the internet for various reasons, thanks to its controversial and bold content to memes and the gripping storyline. However, Akali Dal MLA Manjinder S Sirsa recently accused the makers of hurting religious sentiments of the Sikh community. Now, he and another political figure named Tajinder Bagga have filed a police complaint against filmmaker Anurag Kashyap for allegedly disrespecting a community's sentiments. On Tuesday, Manjinder Sirsa complained to the Information and Broadcasting minister and demanded strict action against the director. Also, the spokesperson of Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Tajinder also filed the complaint about the kada scene shown in season two.
The second season of the Netflix series has a scene where Saif Ali Khan's character (Sartaj Singh) is shown throwing away a kada (all-iron bracelet) in a sea. The politicians argued that kada holds religious importance for the Sikh community and hence the representation was inaccurate. He also went on a Twitter rant to express displeasure over this particular scene. On the other hand, the makers and the cast of the series have not yet responded to any of these allegations.
