Rs 21 crore per film! With that fee amount Varun Dhawan beats Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor
Looks like with a 100 percent track record Varun Dhawan has not only earned a special status in the film industry, but the actor's pay cheque is proof the he's a tough competition to Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.
Not so long ago we heard Varun Dhawan defend the equal pay in Bollywood when the actor appeared alongside Katrina Kaif on Karan Johar's Koffee With Karan season 6. The young heartthrob won many of us over when he even went on to suggest that Katrina, who's working alongside the actor for the first time in Remo D'Souza's ambitious dance film should demand her price. And that's not all, Varun even voiced his support for the actress on national television and said that if the actress did not get the money she deserves he's willing to walk out of the movie. Now, who wouldn't want an actor turn a hero in real life. But if you find out what VD is being paid for this project then we bet your jaw will hit the ground.
According to the latest buzz, Varun Dhawan is charging a whopping Rs 21 crore for the dance film. If this news is indeed true then the young hero has taken giant steps in the industry and his 100 percent hit track record at the box office could also be a reason for this. That's not all, if indeed Dhawan lad has managed to get this sum then he has definitely put behind other stars like Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor as far as pay scale is concerned. And yes, Shahid Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, Siddharth Malhotra would be way behind Varun.
When Padmaavat released buzz was that the makers had paid Deepika Padukone a whopping Rs 12 crore. This is an amount that is nothing compared to the leading men in the industry like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar. Who mint at least Rs 40-50 crore per movie and hold a huge part of profit sharing. And it was during Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movie that we learned of Ranveer drawing Rs 10 crore for the movie and Shahid minting Rs 8 crore. When Akshay Kumar shot for Jolly LLB 2, the actor had charged Rs 1 crore per day of shoot and because he wrapped the film in 41 days, the actor was estimated to have taken home Rs 41 crore at the end of the movie.
And as Varun scales a new height with his hiked pay cheque we cannot wait to find out from Katrina Kaif if she did manage to get the moolah that she deserves?
