Ravi Kishan, BJP Candidate, Wins Lok Sabha Elections 2019 From Gorakhpur Constituency in Uttar Pradesh

Bhojpuri actor and BJP candidate Ravi Kishan who contested on a BJP ticket as won/lost the Lok Sabha seat in Gorakhpur. Ravi Kishan contested on one of the most important seats in Uttar Pradesh. There is a total of ten contenders for the seat. Ravi began his political journey in the year 2014, when he joined the Congress and contested in the General Elections from Jaunpur constituency in Uttar Pradesh. In February 2017, Ravi left Congress and joined BJP. When BJP released their list of candidates for Lok Sabha Elections 2019, Ravi was up for the seat in Gorakhpur Loksabha constituency. Ravi was playing second fiddle to Yogi Adityanath appearing alongside the CM in the polling rallies. Ravi Kishan has been dominantly known for his work in the Bhojpuri movies. His body of work in the regional film industry earned him the kind of popularity that would even give some Bollywood stars a run for the money. Ravi Kishan was also a participant on the debut season of Bigg Boss and became popular in the Hindi region as well. While Bollywood may have reduced Ravi to character roles, he continues to be a leading man in the Bhojpuri cinema. He has some brilliant acting roles to his credit.
