Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone to Reunite in Luv Ranjan’s Next?
Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone fans will be super excited with this news. Because as per the latest buzz in the industry the ex-couple may just reunite on screen for Luv Ranjan's next...
Off screen they may have called it quits, but on screen Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone together spell magic. While buzz was that Ranbir was keen on roping in his ladylove Alia Bhatt for Luv Ranjan's next, rumours doing rounds now suggest that after Tamasha, RK Jr and Deepika may just reunite for Pyar Ka Punchnama fame director, Luv Ranjan's next. After a long break, Deepika finally announced her next film with Raazi helmer Meghna Gulzar. This is a biopic on Lakshmi a brave acid attack survivor and Deepika will also be backing the project as a producer. As far as Ranbir-Ajay Devgn's film with Luv Ranjan is concerned initial reports suggested how Ranbir had ousted Kartik Aryan from the director's movie and RK confessed that it was he who approached the filmmaker.
There were also talks of how Ranbir felt that GF Alia has a Midas touch and them coming together for Luv's movie would spell success at the box office too. However, insiders claimed that Ranjan wanted to keep Nushrat Bharucha as the leading lady. Looks like with Deepika's name being suggested, it would be tough for Luv to resist the temptation of working with Bollywood's A-listers. There were also rumours suggesting that Ajay was not too comfortable with the idea of playing Ranbir's father in the movie, but the filmmaker convinced Singham with a great screen presence in return.
And even as there's discussion about Deepika-Ranbir the film itself seems to be in trouble because Luv Ranjan has joined the long list of accused in #MeToo movement in India. An actress has alleged that the filmmaker during her look test insisted on her stripping off to just her lingerie. In her statement the actress said, "Luv asked me to strip down to my bra and panties. He said he wanted to see my body so he could check if I needed to lose weight. He said they were not recording anything and the cinematographer would also leave the room, so I needn't worry. After that, it all gets blurry. My heart was pounding and I rushed out saying I had to leave, and wasn't comfortable with it."
Despite this episode the actress alleges that she bagged the role and was called back by the filmmaker's team. When the shortlisted heroine met the filmmaker and the three lead male heroes of the film, she asked for the script, to which Luv said, "If a script decided the fate of a film, then even Amitabh [Bachchan] would have never given a flop. What will you understand from a script? I will make you look hot, you will have songs, I'll make you a star."
That's not all, in her account the actress reveals how she was taken to a separate room, where the director said, "Arrey, we can talk like this, we're adults." He also discussed condoms and quizzed her about intimate details like "if she masturbates". When the actress started to leave the room, Luv is said to have requested the lady to not "misunderstand him". The filmmaker has denied any such episode and is willing to go through any kind of test to prove his innocence.
Today, Ajay Devgn on Twitter posted a message supporting the #MeToo movement. Does this mean that Luv Ranjan's film like that of Sajid Khan and Vikas Bahl's will be affected? Watch this space.
