It was shocking when Sandhya Menon, who has been the crusader for truth in #MeToo movement,  posted screenshots of two women that she received on Twitter. One of them, as reported, a journalist, has accused actor Rajat Kapoor of crossing the line professionalism and asking for her body stats during an interview. The journalist wished to be anonymous. It is reported that Rajat asked her if "she was as sexy she sounds". He did not stop there. He then apparently showed the audacity to ask for her "vital stats". She also alleged that Rajat asked her if she frequents Mumbai. After getting a response in the negative, Rajat offered living accommodation for her, reports suggested. The woman concluded the interview post this proposition. #MeToo in India: Journalist and Assistant Director out Rajat Kapoor’s Sexual Misconduct

Interestingly LatestLY had the opportunity to mee the Drishyam actor recently, and we had asked him about the rising #MeToo movement in Bollywood. The question was in the wake of Tanushree Dutta-Nana Patekar sexual assault harassment without making the quest controversial. So we went right ahead and did what our journalistic instincts demanded. We didn't realise the moment of irony that was staring at us then!

The question was pressing. Do you think that because big people and influencers are involved in these controversies (such as sexual assaults or casting couch in Bollywood), these issues are out there in the open for people to discuss? Rajat Kapoor responded to the query that has shocked us, especially after what unfolded just a week after this interview.

Now after a week of this interview, Rajat Kapoor has admitted to the allegations and he has tweeted an apology. He had written, "All my life I have tried to be a decent man, to do the right thing. If however, I have slipped and through my actions or words caused pain or hurt or trauma to absolutely anybody, please accept my apology. I am sorry from the bottom of my heart - and sad that I was the cause of this hurt to another human being. If there is one thing more important to me than even my work, it is to be a good human being. And I have tried to be that person. And now, I will try harder."

It is also pertinent to note that Queen director Vikas Bahl has also been accused of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behaviour by three women.
