The trailer of Ghoul released months back and it sends shivers down the spine every time you watch it. The official Netflix synopsis reads: “Ghoul, a horror series based on Arabic folklore, is set in a covert detention centre. Nida, a newly minted interrogator who turned in her own father as an anti-government activist, arrives at the centre to discover that some of the terrorists held there are not of this world.

Ghoul is co-produced by Anurag Kashyap's Phantom Films and this is his second collaboration with Netflix after Sacred Games. Ghoul refers to an evil spirit or phantom, especially one supposed to rob graves and feed on dead bodies. It is also referred to a person morbidly interested in death or disaster, reads the dictionary.
The Story of Ghoul
A three-part web series, Ghoul is based on the creature of the same name from Arabian folklore. The setting is an interrogation centre in a remote area. Radhika Apte and Manav Kaul star in Ghoul.
Manav Kaul aka Colonel Dacunha
Even though Manav Kaul portrays the role of an interrogation officer, there is more than what meets the eye. Manav's character Colonel Dacunha is hiding inside his heart more evil than anyone could ever imagine! It would be interesting to see how it all turns out to be.
Mahesh Balraj aka Al Saeed
Mahesh Balraj has some dark, intense scenes in the trailer. He plays Al Saeed, the dreaded terrorist in Ghoul and has worked in a few Bollywood movies like Haider, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Gangs of Wasseypur before this.
Hauntingly Scary!
American production house Blumhouse Productions that is behind popular Hollywood horror films like Get Out, Sinister and Insidious has co-produced Ghoul with Anurag Kashyap's Phantom Films. That means, the web series is going to be hauntingly scary!
Ghoul was originally meant to be a horror film written and directed by Patrick Graham. However, after shooting got underway he felt that a longer format would do more justice to the storyline. Netflix officially bought the rights to the project in February 2018, making it the first Indian horror series.
