Priyanka Chopra to Play a Pimp in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Next?

We were excited that Sanjay Leela Bhansali will be directing Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in his next. But news is that even Desi Girl Priyanka Chopra might be seen in Bhansali film after working on Shonali Bose's The Sky Is Pink. No, Priyanka will not be a part of Shah Rukh and Salman project. Buzz is that SLB is keen on roping in his Padmaavat actress, Deepika Padukone for the part, but Salman is rooting for Anushka Sharma to be roped in. While both Salman and SRK have principally agreed for the role we will have to wait to find out, which heroine will be finalised for this film. However, details of Priyanka's next Hindi film has got us super excited.

The Quantico actress recently tied knot with American singer-actor Nick Jonas in Jodhpur. Contrary to reports Dwayne Johnson or Selena Gomez did not turn up for the event. The royal affair however was attended by one of India's richest businessmen, Mukesh Ambani and family. We did miss Bollywood stars presence, but it looked like the couple really enjoyed this only family and close friends affair.

Coming to Priyanka's next, after the actress walked out of Salman Khan's Bharat, she has only one Bollywood film in her kitty. Rumours were that the actress was to work opposite Aamir Khan in Rakesh Sharma biopic, Salute. With Aamir out and Shah Rukh Khan stepping into the part, it is highly unlikely that the actress will be seen in this movie. Last year buzz was that PC and SRK were to work in Bhansali's film on Sahir Ludhianvi. The Zero actor had denied these reports and Priyanka too never confirmed any of this.

Now the good news is that the actress might bag a film, where she will be the main hero. Yes, Bhansali is working on a movie temporarily titled Heera Mandi, based on the life of Gangubai Kothewali of Mumbai's infamous red-light area, Kamathipura. The actress will portray the part of a pimp, who was both dreaded and revered. Priyanka Chopra's character will have shades of grey and will be seen fighting for the rights of prostitutes in the movie. Gangubai as per reports was a formidable woman with some very powerful connections.

Now we have seen actresses play the parts of bar dancers and prostitutes on screen, it will be interesting to see Priyanka essay a role, which not many mainstream heroines would dare take up. But we cannot wait to watch this talented beauty in action. And yes, this also means that despite losing out on Bharat her fans will have two releases of Priyanka Chopra - The Sky Is Pink and Heera Mandi to watch out for.
