The film has been considered as a reflection to the increasing number rape cases and divorces that have been reported in the past few years and hence the director was hoping to capture the tribulations of a sexual assault survivor and take a look the impact it has on their marriage. Firebrand has been directed by Aruna Raje and is available on Netflix.
