Avengers: Endgame is just around the corner. The culmination of a decade long movie franchise has been directed by Russo Brothers - Anthony and Joe, who is in India to promote the film. During an interaction with the media, he said that the studio knows the importance of the Indian market, which is why the "first stop of the press tour" is the country. And this statement was not even the highlight of his interaction. The director revealed information so exciting that news cycle in India has enough fodder to not run out of headlines until April 27. This includes the tiniest possibility that Priyanka might land a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Joe was talking about the influence of Indian cinema on him when he said, "Priyanka is transitioning into global status right now. She is fantastic. I'd love to work with her. And an interesting story...I think it would be a good headline tomorrow, Robot almost influenced the climactic sequence in Avengers: Age of Ultron,"
The makers scrapped the idea of a Robot inspired climax. A journalist pressed Russo about the Indian actor he'd like to work with. The director repeated that he'd love to work with Priyanka and added, “I’m smiling only because we’re potentially talking to her about something, I’m just not going to say what yet."
But that doesn't necessarily mean that Priyanka will land a role in Marvel Cinematic Universe. Because in his own words, Joe is uncertain about his future at the studios. "I don't know their future plans," he said. So, this probable project might be a movie outside of the MCU, like Chris Hemsworth is starring in Dhaka, written and produced by Joe.
That also doesn't mean that there is no chance Priyanka won't be in the MCU. It has been long revealed that Marvel Studios is looking forward to introducing Ms Marvel aka Kamala Khan in the universe. She is a superhero with a Pakistani origin. There was more than enough chatter and headlines about how Priyanka should play the role on the internet. More so, Priyanka has already voiced for the character in the video game, Avengers Academy in 2016. So, never say never. It will be the most marvellous thing to see Priyanka play a superheroine next to the Avengers.
