If there is one thing that refuses to leave the headlines then it is the upcoming Malyalam film Oru Adaar Love. The video of the song Manikya Malaraya Poovi has given the internet a new muse, the lead actress Priya Prakash Varrier. The song received 1.2 million hits on YouTube soon after it released. Now while all was going well, there was a complaint of it hurting the sentiments of Muslims. An FIR was launched against the song for insulting the Prophet. This started in Hyderabad and unfortunately continues in Mumbai as well. The Raza academy passed a resolution against the movie for the same reason. They now intend to forward this resolution as a complaint to Mumbai Police and the Censor Board.
Mohammad Abdul Mukhit Khan along with his friends from Farrukhnagar in Hyderabad registered a case against the director Omar Lulu. The actress, however, decided to stay mum on the matter, probably because her saying anything wrong could’ve just turned back on her. She refused to say anything without giving any reaction to the controversy that’s churning out. She is currently too overwhelmed by getting the kind of response she has over just the last two days. The instant popularity of Priya Varrier looks like a good sign for the film but let us see what happens about the controversy. The police and censor boards will take a wise decision we can hope.
