Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set for another period drama, but the filmmaker has dropped his new blue-eyed boy Ranveer Singh. However, Ranveer's wife Deepika Padukone will be the leading lady in this project. And if recent reports are anything to go by then Bhansali will bring together Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in this film. Truly, Sanjay Leela Bhansali will have managed a casting coup with this one. As reported by senior journalist Rajeev Masand, Bhansali is yet to make it official, but both SRK and Salman have committed to the actor in principle.

Bhansali shares a hit partnership with both Salman and Shah Rukh. In fact,  few of Salman's best work has been with SLB, be it critically acclaimed Khamoshi or then the more commercially successful Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.  In September, Salman Khan had confirmed that he had heard Bhansali's script in a line and was indeed collaborating with the filmmaker again after 11 years. The last film that the Dabangg hero worked with the maverick filmmaker, Saawariya failed to perform at the box office. The duo even had a public fallout when Bhansali's film Guzaarish with Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan released. However, all that is a thing of past, with SK confirming this news earlier this year looks like the movie is on track.

Shah Rukh and SLB had worked together in Devdas. Buzz was that the director wanted SRK to work in Sahir Ludhianvi biopic. Reports suggested that Priyanka Chopra would be the leading lady opposite SRK. However, neither Shah Rukh nor Sanjay confirmed these rumours. Insiders revealed that the Zero actor was keen on collaborating with filmmakers like Bhansali and Karan Johar with whom the actor has had successful track records. And therefore it would be no surprise if indeed the two Khans have given their nod for this movie.

Coming to Deepika Padukone, the actress has not signed any other film apart from Meghna Gulzar's movie on acid attack victim Lakshmi. Bhansali we hear is extremely fond of the Deepika after the actress stepped into Kareena Kapoor's shoes for Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela. Bebo we hear might never get to work with the director in the near future because Bhansali has not forgotten how the actress ditched his film to get married to Saif Ali Khan. SLB is currently culling out the characters and working on his period drama we hear and going by reports it will take at least a few more months. Which means that Deepika, Salman and SRK have enough time to finish their pending projects and dedicate their time to Bhansali's next magnum opus, which is rumoured to be titled Inshallah.

Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have worked in several films together earlier, however these were cameos or then special song appearances. The Bharat hero will also be making a special appearance in SRK's Zero.
