Ranveer Singh may have had a more successful track record at the box office, however Ranbir Kapoor’s one mega hit with Rajkumar Hirani, Sanju seems to have made him industry’s current favourite. From Aamir Khan to Aditya Chopra everybody is keen on casting RK Jr in their movies. We know that when Akshay Kumar walked out of Gulshan Kumar biopic, Mogul, T-Series was relieved that Aamir Khan stepped in. Mr Perfectionist we hear was so impressed with Ranbir’s Sanju act that he wanted to cast the young Kapoor lad in Mogul. With Brahmastra, Shamshera and Luv Ranjan’s next already under his belt, Ranbir had no time for another biopic.

And looks like now Ranveer’s mentor, Aditya Chopra who’s bankrolling Shamshera wants to direct Rishi Kapoor’s son. According to an online report the filmmaker is working on an intense love story and was hoping to direct Ranbir. The last film that Aditya had worked on was Befikre that starred Ranveer and Vaani Kapoor. Apparently, Aditya feels the need to direct the young talent who has all the filmmakers that he has worked with till date go gaga about him.

However, it is highly unlikely that the Ranbir will give a nod to this film. The reason is simple, Ranbir feels that he should be by his ailing father in the US. With his work assignments keeping him occupied the actor has no space to accommodate more movies in his current scheme of things.  Guess Aditya Chopra will either have to wait for RK Jr's nod or then opt for another hero for his movie.

Yesterday, Ranbir Kapoor did not attend ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone's wedding reception despite being invited. Apparently, the actor also plans to skip an appearance on Karan Johar's chat show Koffee With Karan 6, where the actor was to share couch with Shah Rukh Khan. With Ranbir's plans dicey, buzz is that instead of SRK it will Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas for the finale this year. We'll have to wait and find out if indeed Priyanka will ditch Kareena Kapoor and take her husband instead. And we are dying to find out if Karan will replace his bestie from the finale to get the exclusive first chat with Mr and Mrs Jonas. Watch this space for more...
