The whole Nirav Modi scam has rocked the entire nation, when reports came out that the jewellery kingpin has duped the Punjab National Bank and has scurried out of the nation with assets appropriating to Rs 11,000 crores. While the government and the opposition are taking their own time in indulging in blame games, the bank is doing its best to find out how the leak happened and punishing the employees.
While financial analysts are trying to determine how the whole scandal will affect our economy, there are other who still try to find humour in this depressing matter. There is our favourite Riteish Deshmukh, one of the very few Bollywood celebs, who even bothered to react to the whole issue. And he did that in his typical funny style, while making a potshot at his own movie Bank Chor. You get the joke, right? No? Well, then check it out below,

Well, Riteish, please provide us more of such gems to help us laugh in these dark and depressing times. We need a little more laughter now more than ever, even if it may offend some people.
In other news , the Supreme Court will hear PIL on the PNB Scam on February 23. As per reports, Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra-led bench will hear the PIL filed by lawyer Vineet Dhanda.
Meanwhile Nirav Modi had written a letter to PNB where he denies ever owning the bank so much money. The letter, that PTI got a copy of, states, "The erroneously cited liability resulted in a media frenzy which led to immediate search and seizure of operations, and which in turn resulted in Firestar International and Firestar Diamond International effectively ceasing to be going-concerns. This thereby jeopardised our ability to discharge the dues of the group to the banks. In the anxiety to recover your dues immediately, despite my offer (on February 13, a day before the public announcement, and on 15) your actions have destroyed my brand and the business and have now restricted your ability to recover all the dues leaving a trail of unpaid debts."
