Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s wedding has been a mission impossible for media and a test for their diehard fans. The couple tied a knot in Italy’s Lake Como and estimates suggest that the accommodation alone must have cost the couple about 8-10 crore. Yesterday it was an all-white Konkani wedding ceremony, where even the family and friends of the bride and groom came dressed in white. The resort where DeepVeer got hitched was literally converted into a fort and it even reminded us of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film sets. The Bajirao Mastani actors had a lavish and fun Sindhi ritual today and from what we’ve heard the pics of this function will be more colourful. While the much awaited first pics of the newly wed couples is finally out, we got our hands on one of the first gifts that Deepika and Ranveer received.

We had earlier reported how the couple had asked for all wedding gifts to be given in the form of donation towards Deepika’s Live Love Laugh foundation. However, looks like Farah Khan decided to break this rule. The Om Shanti Om director who gave Deepika Padukone her big break in Bollywood decided to give Deepika and Ranveer a present, which they will not just love but also protect all their lives. Deepika and Ranveer’s wedding was widely discussed in the media for the last two months. While Deepika became the guest on Karan Johar’s talk show, the actress refused to confirm this news. In fact, at another event where Ranveer and Deepika were both present on the podium the host started the chat by addressing the elephant in the room, their then impending marriage. The Gully Boy hero had promised then that whenever they would tie the knot, they’d announce it to their fans and well-wishers. And the couple kept their promise when they took to social media to announce their wedding dates on October 21. Ranveer and Deepika will be hosting three grand wedding receptions in India after their Lake Como destination wedding. The duo will go for a short honeymoon soon after the wedding and return back to India in time for their reception. Unfortunately, DeepVeer’s reception will clash with Priyanka Chopra - Nick Jonas marriage on December 1, which will take place in Jodhpur. And we hope like Deepika and Ranveer, Priyanka doesn’t have a strict no photographs policy.
