An FIR has been registered against Bollywood casting director Vicky Sidana with the Versova Police Station after allegations of rape were levelled by an aspiring actress. In her handwritten complaint, the actress reported that she was molested on two occasions when Sidana met her reportedly for some film-related work.  This case has come to light when #MeToo has hit India with many women came forward to call out names.

In an interview with Zoom TV, said that Sidana attempted to rape her on the pretext of introducing her to director Luv Ranjan.  The actress had filed a complaint in October with the Versova Police Station.  She was denied an FIR. Post this the actress wrote to the Ministry of Home Affairs of  Maharashtra. It is now reported that the case has been filed under sections 354, 509 and 406 of IPC.

The incident happened five years ago, it is reported and it would first need to be thoroughly investigated, according to Mid-day. "When we returned later, police officer Ravindra Badgujar informed that the FIR wasn't filed, as they wish to investigate the case first," said the accuser.

She also claimed that when she returned to the station with her husband next morning the police harassed her during cross-questioning. Shockingly it is stated in the report that Sidana invited her to his place for the night for work-related discussions in Mumbai. She considered the offer to be safe as he lived with his wife. But Sidana tried to assault her on several occasions and even apologised when she threatened to leave.
