Mauli Quick Movie Review: Riteish Deshmukh Returns as the Fearless Cop in an Action-Packed Drama

Riteish Deshmukh has been away from the Marathi film industry for four whopping years. But with Aditya Sarpotdar's film Mauli, he is back in the space with a bang. Touted to be the sequel of 2014 film Lai Bhaari, the trailer of the film promised a cop drama filled with action and power-packed dialogues. After a heavy promotion on Marathi channels and the catchy music album by music composer duo Ajay-Atul, the fans are really looking forward to this entertaining film. Has it managed to woo us? The flick starts with a grand entry of Inspector Sarjerao Deshmukh aka Mauli. The cop is nothing less than a ninja who stays in a village called Pandharpur. The cop who is otherwise all things nice turns into a superhero when it comes to fighting the goons and protecting girls. With the chant of 'Mauli' throughout the scenes, we get to see a heavy dose of entertainment. However, a flashback sequence takes us to the backstory of this cop. Then starts the twists and turns of the story. Also, we get to meet the real villain of the story here who makes us wonder 'what happens next?'. Just as the villagers start treating the cop as a God, they come to know the truth. Will they support him? Will Mauli save the village from this terrible goon? The first half ends on an emotional note and the second half has the answers.
