Kamal Haasan is by far one of the most talented actors in India. The actor turns a year older today and let us tell you a lesser known fact about this maverick. According to the Vishwaroopam actor’s own confession he worked as an assistant make-up artist on sets of Star Trek. That’s right, Kamal Haasan in an interview revealed how he assisted Academy Award winner make-up expert Michael Westmore on sets of Star Trek. The actor-turned-politician said, “I underwent a training of 30-40 days with Academy Award-winning make-up artist Michael Westmore to learn the art of make-up. In fact, I worked on the sets of Hollywood film Star Trek to learn about make-up because there would be a lot of different creatures in the film.”

For those who have been following Kamal Haasan’s career would know that the actor is master of disguise. He has played characters on screen that looked nothing like him. From being donning multiple looks in Dasavatharam to playing an old man in Indian, who can forget the entertaining Chachi 420 and the dwarf in Appu Raja, a role Kamal Haasan took up much before Shah Rukh Khan dared to play a character like that in Aanand L Rai’s Zero. Kamal Haasan has vowed the audience with his onscreen characters. We wonder if the actor used his experience as an assistant make-up artist to improve his reel avatars.

While Kamal Haasan chooses fewer films, the man manages to impress his fans each time. And even as he’s busy dabbling into politics at the moment, the actor’s first love will always be movies. The talented actor will next be seen in Indian 2 and Sabaash Naidu, a movie that is a spin-off of one of the characters from his movie Dasavatharam. The film has been written and co-produced by the actor. The Indian spy comedy adventure is slated for December 31, 2019 release.
