Sharda Sinha, the renowned folk singer and Padma Bhushan awardee, sadly passed away on Tuesday, November 5, at the age of 72. Known for her melodious voice, she was fondly called 'Bihar Kokila.' Her death has left her fans and loved ones grieving, but it is a post she shared just a week before her passing that has truly captured the public’s attention. Her last Facebook post, written after the death of her beloved husband Brajkishore Sinha on September 22, has gone viral. In it, she expressed, “Main jald hi aaungi (I will come to you soon).” This poignant message, coupled with her declining health following her husband’s passing, has deeply moved her admirers. In a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, Sharda had earlier shared a memory of her husband. She recalled how, on her birthdays, while the rest of the family slept, Sinha Sahab would quietly rise early, buy her roses and breakfast, and wait for her to wake up. As soon as she did, he would present the flowers to her, wishing her a happy birthday. She also reminisced about how he would indulge in junk food, despite knowing it wasn’t good for his health, and how she would often scold him for it, trying to stop him. But, in his usual way, he would deny it at first, only to admit the truth when she gave him a knowing look. “At first, he would deny, but when I would look at him with seriousness, he would admit that he has eaten the junk food already.” This simple yet cherished ritual was something they shared every year. Further she added, " Last meeting with him was the evening of 17 September when I said, in 3 days I will be back, take care of yourself. They told me,"... I'm absolutely fine, you just stay healthy.. And will be back soon". Who knew that the eyes were looking at me for the last time with folded hands. Today is a very heavy day. I feel the presence of Sinha Saheb, both children Vandana and Anshuman feel as if father has gone somewhere, will come back after a while. This tearing silence, this piercing like a heart will explode! One picture left of the last visit, sharing here for everyone to see. The granddaughter is in her lap, her eyes are full, I am standing with me giving comfort. I will be coming soon ... I had just said this to them ......!"
